International Symposium on Lipids Science and Health Held in Wuhan

On May 26-27, the International Symposium on Lipids Science and Health was jointly hosted in Wuhan by Oil Crops Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (OCRI-CAAS) and Infinitus (China) Company Ltd. More than 150 representatives from the United States, Australia, Spain, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Finland and several universities and institutions in China attended the meeting.

 

Lipids are among the key nutrients highly related to human health. Lipids have positive nutrition intervention and regulation effects on chronic diseases.Lipid nutrition and health has become a research hotspot worldwide. This symposium was focusing on lipidomics methodology and application, lipids function and metabolism, and lipids nutrition and health.The Oil Chemistry and Nutrition Research Team of OCRI-CAAS presented updated progresses on profiling, characterization and green preparation of functional lipids, and lipid nutrition and products development.

 

The symposium was thought to be meaningful for  strengthening international cooperation, promoting collaborative innovation of lipids science and technology, and facilitating efficient utilization and high quality of oil for people’s nutritional and physical fitness levels.

 

Joint laboratory for  Functional Lipids-Oil Crops Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Infinitus was launched during the symposium.Lipid Science and Health International Consortium & Multi-lateral Collaboration Program was formed based on an agreement signed by the foreign and domestic outstanding universities and institutions.
