National Engineering Research Center for Rapeseed

In order to further enhance rapeseed industry in China, the National Engineering Research Center for Rapeseed, approved by Ministry of Science and Technology, was founded by the combination of the Oil Crops Research Institute of CAAS and Huazhong Agricultural University in 2002. The Center is designed to work for integration of key techniques in rapeseed production and utilization chain, demonstration of integrated techniques and promotion of technology extension. Since its foundation, the Center has made much effort to improve quality, enhance yield, modify cultivation techniques, lower production cost, develop improved cultivars and process high-valued products of rapeseed and remarked progress has been achieved.
