The group aims to reveal molecular mechanisms of rapeseed important agronomic traits forming; to clone its functional genes; to establish the high oil yield breeding theory and technology platforms; to create the special materials by using biotechnology methods. The lab is currently undertaking research projects on one National Key Development Project (973), one National High-technology Project (863), and three National Natural Science Foundation projects etc.
Three main research directions:
1. Identification of oil content genes/sites and regulating network analysis of oil biosynthesis in rapeseed;
2. Study on mechanism of photosynthesis and improvement of high photosynthetic efficiency in rapeseed;
3. Analysis of regulating mechanism of plant type traits and construction of ideal plant type in Rapeseed.
